The United States presidential election of 1980 featured a contest between incumbent Democrat Jimmy Carter and his Republican opponent, Ronald Reagan, as well as Republican Congressman John B. Anderson, who ran as an independent. Reagan, aided by the Iran hostage crisis and a worsening economy at home, won the election in a landslide. Carter, after defeating Ted Kennedy for the Democratic nomination, attacked Reagan as a dangerous right-wing radical. For his part, Reagan, the former Governor of California, repeatedly ridiculed Carter, and won a decisive victory; in the simultaneous Congressional elections, Republicans won control of the United States Senate for the first time in 28 years. This election marked the beginning of what is popularly called the "Reagan Revolution."

Bad memories from the Carter presidency, rampant inflation, 21% interest rates, military in the toilet, farm commodity prices bottomed out, yeah all you guys that think Democrats are the answer need to suffer through good times like that. Tried to pass a law if someone broke into your house instead of defending yourself you were suppose to go to a safe room. Almost forgot about all the Cuban criminals and mentally ill Carter let into the country when Castro emptied  out his prisons.

The Carter years were really tough on a lot of people for sure. All except for 1 and his name was Billy and he was Jimmy Carters brother. He was also a business man that his brother Jimmy had little to no control over. He was a thorn in Jimmy Carters back side he could not get rid of. He once figured out a way with the help of a few people in Carters Cabinet to go to Libya where Billy borrowed a large some of money for a business venture as Muarmmar Gaddafi was looking to invest money in some American businesses. He loaned Billy like $285,000.00 to open up a brewery and begin making BIlly Beer. I never heard what happened to that ordeal but I know some Billy Beer did make it on to store shelves..........................

I bought a 6 pack of Billy Beer back in the day. Didn't drink any of it, I made some gag gifts to give away instead. I used a glass cutter to cut the bottom out of some wine bottles, glued the Billy Beer can to the bottom and glued it back on. Attach a label of break in case of emergency. Later Billy Beer became a collectors item for awhile so I wondered if anyone I gave the gag gift to cashed in.

Dont forget national 55 mph speed limit and the Jimmy Carter mandated speedometers on all cars that had a maximum speed shown of 85mph. That'll make everyone go slower.

Carter was a horrible president. But he is a better man than the rest since combined.

I think that he is an idiot who's oblivious to the fact that he's an idiot. How else can one explain his running of his mouth against better Presidents?

That is politics. I am not speaking of politics. Just the man in general. His character,  demeanor,  love of fellow humans. He has all of them best in that regard. Goes to the point of a good man should not be in politics. It is ruinous. Sad though, lest we never get our government back how than shall a good man run.

Obama,  Bush once and two,  Clinton,  Reagan,  Ford,  none of them have done for their fellow man as has Carter. Yes in politics he sucked. He should not even comment upon the topic.

Reagan restored dignity and strength to the White House and this country. One of my favorite Presidents.

I'll agree about Carter, a disaster of a President, but a good man overall.
