It happened in 1974

That was a good day for my 10 year old self.

All that political stuff was putting a damper on my Television viewing.

We only had the 3 networks plus a couple of fuzzy local UHF channels!

I was just a 7 year old, I can't remember it. Probably a good thing I can't.

Why you old fart, I was only 6 at the time. Ha! :)

It's funny, I can't remember all that going on, but I can remember Gerald Ford being president.

I was two months shy of 7 when Nixon resigned and remember it happening but didn’t really know why.

Funny to watch re-runs of "All in the Family". That's about all Meathead ever talked about.

Younger people probably don't understand the dialogue or find it funny.

At morning formation our CO informed us that we had a new CIC. Of course most of us had already heard.

Damn! You youngsters are making me feel old. :waiting:

I was being dragged all up and down the east coast. Went to 12 different schools that year. Needless to say I failed that grade.

I was 26 and fully employed, I remember it well. Boy am I old. I even have a good story about Nelson Rockefeller going to DC to be sworn in as VP that I will try to tell some day.

August of 74 I was 19 and bumming through Italy.

I was 20 and had just dropped out of college.  Didn't get to bum through Italy, though, so I guess you win.  :)

Disappointingly, I was uable to find the SNL video clip with Ackroyd as Nixon and Belushi as Kissinger.

I think it was one on one of the "best of" collections.

You won’t find any SNL clips on YouTube or anything like that, much less one that is embeddable.  NBC is mighty tight with that stuff.

My parents were working real hard to have a baby I am told. They were successful getting the procees rolling about that time..

Probably because there wasn't anything on TV other than the Watergate hearings ...

I remember watching Chevy Chase portraying Ford. They always made fun of him being physically clumsy.

My favorite SNL President skit was Bill Hartman/Reagan.

Blathering Fool in public.PoLITICAL GENIUS BEHIND CLOSED DOORS.

SNLs Baldwin/Trump might have been a little funny at first but it got old fast.

The hard part was figuring out how to make enough money to get back home.

We won't judge. What happened in Italy stays in Italy.
