Memphis News Paper

The Commercial Appeal was never what I'd call a great newspaper but since it was taken over by USA Today it's definitely taken a turn for the worse. Besides being a leftist rag it's also behind on everything (usually). It seems like any national or international news appears in the paper two days late so the only thing it's up to date on is the body count in Memphis.

I said before, 'usually'. This morning's paper, Oct/5/2018 had a section that was from the future  :D

We lost ours a few years ago, Clarksville has no reporters left.

Check the future section to see if the lotto numbers are in it.

It’s not even printed in Memphis anymore.

As soon as USA bought it, they moved everything to Jackson. That big ol' building they had downtown is sitting there empty.

And people wonder why subscriptions are down.

If I want to read USA Today, I'll stay in a cheap hotel.

Local reporting matters. And it costs money. I hope the Gannett's of the world all choke on the junk they're rebroadcasting from UP and Reuters.
