The Whiskey and Spirits Thread

1lessthan10 makes a good point.  So I've renamed this thread.

"The whiskey and spirits thread"

The only way to know what's in a thread is to rename it yourself.

I didn't mean for it to sound like I was disagreeing with you about staying on topic...

I was just running my mouth... AGAIN! :pleased:

Why brag?  You've already got 9,999 warning points courtesy of another moderator.  Not that I really care in this particular case but you seem to enjoy the fact.

Back on topic...

Picked this up tonight.

Brag? Are you really serious? And do you really think what I said in my above post was just for my own enjoyment?

I said...

Wouldn't this seem to be the same as saying...

"I'm sorry if I was the one going off-topic... I need to watch what I say in the future."

I'm on this forum to enjoy exchanging ideas and thoughts with the other members here. In no way would I cause hard feelings with anyone on this board!

I love good bourbon but haven't really gotten into buying bottles of high end stuff. When I go to Louisville, Ky, I always have dinner at least one time at Baxter's Station, which is a great bourbon bar. They have over 100 different bourbons available and run from $5.75 to $23 ( Pappy Van Winkle's 23yr ) per glass. As far as my every day drinking bourbon, I recently picked up a bottle of Jim Beam Devils Cut and have to say, it's a good bourbon. I've always been a 12 year old George Dickel drinker but the older I get, the more I like bourbon.

Of the bourbons that I've tried in this thread I've been pleasantly surprised but 2.

The first is Makers 46. That is one fine bourbon. Either straight or Old Fashioned or Manhatten, just excellent.

Second is Dickle Barrel Select. Just over the rocks tonight but its a real value at the price.

Both recommendations by Raoul out fearless OP.

Next on the list is Prichards Double Chocolate that David suggested.

its from kelso tn 90 proof
they cut the whiskey then re age it in oak barrels. it is very smooth. I drank it straight out of the bottle not too hot interesting flavors more caramel not an overwhelming flavor I will have to throw it over a cube of ice and see how it turns out. I can recommend it !
thanks for the bday wish

I've got a few new ones you guys need to try, but the one I want to recommend tonight is Prichard's Double Chocolate Bourbon using Prichard's bourbon and Olive & Sinclair chocolate. Absolutely amazing. My wife spotted it on the shelf at one of our local stores and suggested we pick it up. Good call. smile.png

Prichard's in made in Lawrence county Tn. All their products are very good.
