Went with some friends and toured the Nelsons Green Brier Distillery. Fun time. Non of their Nashville distilled lot is aged yet but we did get to try their in-aged as well as their Belle Meade brand which is distilled under contract with another distilled.

I will say the Bell Meade single barrel that's only sold at the distillery store due to limited quantities was very good! All in all it was worth the $10 to spend 30 mins and taste some whiskey

For burban I really enjoy Blanton's single barrel. I keep a bottle in the cabinet always.

Also a massive fan of Macallan 12 year

Was it any good?

The white liquor was not my thing but it was fine. I think once aged it'll be worth the purchase. The regular Bell Meade 9year was good. The single barrel was very good.

could you compare the single barrel to the hand barrel select Dickel? (the 100 proof stuff)

OK - dumb question time.  I went to Benton's Smoked Hams and Bacon in Benton, TN on Friday.  Got a bunch of bacon, sausage, country ham...it is sooooo good.  Well, I was reading some review online about the bacon and they were going on about how the drippings from this stuff was like pure gold.  They suggested putting a drop into bourbon.  Hmmm...has anybody ever heard of putting a drop of bacon grease into Bourbon?  I'm intrigued because this bacon is so good and so smoky...I may try int with some Wild Turkey 101 or something...thoughts?  B

Got by to meet Mike357 last weekend. Picked up some nice wines and some Purity vodka to try. Every body should stop by when in Knoxville. Great selection and prices. Plus he's a nice guy.

I have put a bit of bacon grease in coffee before. I guess it depends on how much you like bacon and whether you care to ruin a pour of bourbon.

It's unique. A good smooth flavor. But it's $75 vs $40. So the value is definitely better for the Dickel. But it's better than other $75 bottles I've tasted.

So I had some friends visit last week as I posted above. On the way they stopped at Woodford Reserve and took a tour, and brought me a gift. This is only sold at the distillery.

It's smooth and sweet on the front with that traditional Woodford oak and spice in the aftertaste. Very good on my opinion.

I will be visiting soon. It's been since January I think. I'm out of the excellent wine he recommended so I need to go restock since no one here has it. My boozer family is coming to town so what better place to stock up? lol

Hey, if anybody runs across a 21yo bottle of Chivas let me know.  I have been looking for one for my dad but can't seem to find one.

I did the Bourbon Trail last fall and picked up a bottle of same.... Can attest to its smoothness and taste. An excellent product.

Can I get some suggestions on which liquor store in the Chattanooga area has the "best" (or most diverse) selection of Single Malt Scotch? Working down here for the week, and it's gonna be a long one.

Elmer T Lee is back in the market,  obviously in limited quantity.

If you want one today is the time to come in.  It is going fast.

BTW If I recall correctly we have it for $39

Mike,  my brother told me to look for a pecan bourbon called William wolf. You got that?

I have not heard of it.  Where did he get it at?
