I have always loved bourbons but never tried to maintain a "library" until recently. I remember being in college before the bourbon boom and seeing Pappy on the shelf. I distinctly remember seeing it, wondering if it was good and then thinking to myself what a dumb name who would buy that? Haha.

I've had Pappy 20 and I can see why all the hype. Is it worth aftermarket prices? No, not to me. Is it the best bourbon to hit my lips? Absolutely! Not to say there aren't other excellent bourbons out there, but if there is a bourbon I like more than the sample of Pappy I had, I haven't been able to find it.

My dad was able to snag a bottle of the Van Winkle 12 year this past fall at a reasonable price. We are waiting till the birth of my son in April to crack that guy open. :-)

I've had the 15 year and the 23 year. The 23 is hands down the best drink I've ever had and I'm not just referring to Bourbon's either. It's literally the best drink I've ever had.

It will sure be nice when this bourbon boom is over. When did it start, like 2012? Any end in sight? In 2012 that EC18 was $35-50...now with the rerelease, MSRP is $120.

The boom is probably here to stay, thanks to hipsters, but worse yet is the bourbon shortage that a lot of distilleries are predicting.

Ma

Maybe with Natural flavors like cotton candy and Marshmallow!

What they chose to put in their mouth is their business. I just wish they'd stay away from our bourbon!

Maybe the hipsters will switch to vodka or something more gender neutral. Haha

As long as they don't switch to single malt scotch. It's already expensive and I don't care to see it go up. ;)

I'd be pretty upset if they did because i know my favorite, Lagavulin 16 would be the first to go.

Weller Reserve and Weller Antique have hit our shelves again finally.  As well as Noah's Mill ,Rowans Creek and Blanton's.   Supplies are as always limited.  We stock our shelves with these spirits the same as if it is 7 Crown.  First come first served.

Try your local stores, they might have it too.

Our orders stands at 100 cases, so we get what the distributors send.  Distribution is  joke.  We got about seven cases total of Weller, maybe five of the Blanton's.  ( 6 bottle cases)

good to know! Will keep an eye out around my area. I didn't know people were crazy about the Special Reserve too. Do you expect any Elmer or 12 year Weller this time of year?

Well you never know when some of the hard to get items will arrive.  I don't anticipate either coming any time soon.  I have not seen Elmer in forever.  But it was that way with the Noah's and Rowan's too,

I haven't had a problem finding Noah's Mill in my area. If a store is out of it, usually another one close by had some. Is Noah's allocated?

Just got this.  Obviously they spared no expense on labeling. :biglol: But don't let the looks fool you... I'm having it on the rocks right now and it's really smooth.  Glad I took a $50(!) gamble.

I was hoping someone could give me some advice on what to do with these. I don't know how old they are. They belonged to my Dad who died 24 years ago. I realize that what's bottled is bottled and it's not getting any better or worse. Anyone know anything about them? Are these worth anything? Or should I just open and enjoy?9d7daaab90f3f3e7fdc143e045d2e938.jpg

Broken record here,

Dickel Barrel Select. I find myself here almost 3:1 against everything else in the cabinet.

Yeah, I was late to the bandwagon on that stuff... But it's all I buy now
