What was your very first firearm?

Mine was a single shot  twenty gauge. School was out for the summer and my parents went to work. I was around 14 years old. I was bored and I decided to practice my shooting. Well, I proceeded to put holes into the transformer. Well, a nosy neighbor called the cops and I ended up getting grounded for the summer.  And, my parents sold my shotgun.  lol.  How about your first firearm?

.410 single shot Brazilian import shotgun.  My Papaw gave it to me. My dad made d@m sure I knew it was not a toy. I was maybe 10. It was my squirrel gun until my Papaw graduated me to a 12ga years later.

I still have it. Don't shoot it much since it is a youth length stock. It has the neatest break lever. You pull the entire trigger guard back. At least I have not seen it done that way much.

From slingshot to B.B. to an old buldged barrel single shot 20ga that belonged to my dad and uncle.  From bird, duck, dove hunting for a number of years. Then it was my son’s first gun as well.  Still have it.  Probably not worth more than $40 tops but the most valuable gun I have.

I wish I would have bought a 10/22 back in the day. I already had a .22 rifle, a Winchester single shot. However I am convinced that the BEST .22 rifle ever made is the Ruger 10/22.

Marlin Model 60 .22 rifle.  Kept it for 30 years till I gave it to a cousin so he could give it to his son for his first gun.

My first gun was a Hi-Point 45 when I was in my mid 20s. I’d shot a gun a couple of times growing up, but I wasn’t raised in the gun culture. My children will have a different experience.

Walther P99 in .40S&W.  Bought it with some saved up deployment money after coming home from Iraq in early 2004.  In hindsight, I wish I'd gotten the 9mm version, but still love this gun 14 years later, even if it doesn't see daily carry use, or as much range time as it used to.

I've thought about selling it a few times for a quick buck, but sentimentality prevents me from doing so.

The first one I bought was an H&K VP 70z. Grew up with an unknown .22 handi rifle of some indeterminate brand. Probably a Stevens

J.C. Higgins bolt action single shot 4.10 when I was 10 years old unless your talking BB guns. If that be so I had a lever action Red Rider BB gun at age 8.

Remington 581 22lr. Christmas gift when I was 10. Just passed it on to my son as a house warming gift. He loves it and it's good squirrel medicine for his new home.

H&R model 058 Topper with a 20 gauge modified barrel and a 30-30 Winchester barrel. I still have it, along with the box and papers.

It's killed a LOT of game over the years.

My father is a thrifty fella, and paid $100 out the door for it at our local Ace Hardware.

Unless it's burned or stolen, my kids can fight over it one day.

Stevens 16 ga double barrel handed down from my dad who bought it new. Still have it. One of my boys will have it someday but for now it's staying with me.

Stevens Crack Shot, single shot 22, w/ falling block lever. Lost it in a fire some yrs back. Really hated to lose that old friend.

Savage 220D single-shot 20 gauge; a Christmas present from my parents in 1964.   I haven't shot it in years, but I still have it.

Cheers,

Dad gave me a Remington 870 for deer hunting in the early 90’s. Still looks new, only dropped one with it. First handgun I bought was a S&W M&P40 in late 2008.
