Should I take a chance on a Tikka T3

So I have been told, in no uncertain terms, that I AM NOT in the market for another rifle (Bet you can't guess at who told me that!) ... but ... I found a Tikka T3 Lite in 7mm-08 that is just begging me to try to sneak it past her. I've never had a Tikka and don't know anything about them except what I read on the net. The T3 is the older model (not the T3x) but it looks like it has never been shot. I like the 7mm-08 as a deer cartridge but I'm wondering about the Tikka's "true" accuracy (I take most everything I read about accuracy with a grain of salt) and how it will hold up to a hundred or more rounds a month on the range. Any comments, pro or con, will be appreciated (and if you talk me into buying it I promise I won't tell her it was your fault!) Thanks

Can't advise you on the gun, but if you get in trouble after bringing it home.  Calmly place a towel over the mad person's shoulders and say "well now you're super mad!" Report back on how it works out.

I can tell you that my wife and I came to an agreement some time ago. If I buy a gun she gets equal money in jewelry. It's sure kept my gun buying to a minimum. But even so, she has a hard time getting through the metal detectors at the airports. Some how, like every other man, I end up on the short end of the deal.

I had a Tikka T3 Lite in .270. It was one of my all time favorite deer rifles. Wish I had never sold it. Mine was just under 1 moa. Of course I only shot it probably 10 rounds per year. A couple to check zero before the season and a couple at deer. Not sure how it would hold up to 100 rds per month.

When the T3 Lite first came out there was a recall on it to fix something. I forgot what the fix was but I did send mine in. You can probably google and find the serial number range of when he recall was.

I still have my rubber T3 patch that came with the gun on my shooting workbench.

It was a great rifle.

I have two, both shoot one hole @ 100.

Everyone I know that has them say they're the most accurate out of the box rifles they've ever had, I agree.

Can't go wrong in my opinion.

My grandfather only had about 6 guns at the most and always complained about having a lot more than he will ever need. He gave me 2 of the 6 when we moved toTennessee back in 1967. Thank GOD I had them loaned out to friends when my house got burlarized in 1988 and they stole 17 guns and one has surfaced just recently and I should be getting it back after the trial has completed and the evidence can be returned to the original owners,
