Hi Y'all Fron Hilham, TN

Well, been lurkin' around for a while but never had much to offer. You know what they say, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt!"

Call me Craig or Chief, I answer to either. Retired Navy (Small Boats), retired Mechanical Engineer (2nd career in Industrial Refrigeration), self designated Tennessee Hillbilly, married 46 years (to the same woman!), 2 kids (both joined the Army so I'm not sure where I went wrong) one is a PhD in Abnormal Psychology (said she had to study that to understand her parents ... I think I've been insulted but I ain't figured it out yet) the other is a 2LT Platoon Leader in the 291st MP Guard Unit at Levenworth. Dad is proud of both of them.

Finally have enough time and money to feed my addictions, guns, fast cars, and high-end woodworking (also design and build Strip Canoes). Appleseed Instructor in Training and SCCA Time Trials Driving Instructor (though I've also been an Instructor at the NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling  Green).  Current fast car is a '17 Cadillac ATS 3.6 Premium Performance with all the upgrades, previous fast cars were all Track Toys (Civic Si Type R, S-2000, Dodge Demon) unfortunately all of them apparently had a sign on the side that said ... "Stop me, I'm Speeding!". The Caddy flies below the radar!

Back to guns, I have 25, 50, 100, & 200 yard ranges on my farm complete with covered shooting stands and I'm currently mapping out a 300 and 400 yard range but that is for the future. Favorite cartridge (at least today) is the 6.5 Creedmoor but I load for .223, 6.5, .270WBY, 7mm-08, .250 Savage, .30-30, .308, 9mm, and .45ACP.  Probably go through 300 .22LR a week and another 100 or so center fire.

I once heard a statement that "Only accurate rifles are interesting" and I firmly believe it! Just tested a new 6.5 load this morning (41.5 Gn Superformance, 143 Gn ELD-X, CCI 200, Hornady Case) and shot three consecutive 3 shot groups under 1/2" at 200 yards (1/4 MOA). Rifle is a Browning X-Bolt Hell's Canyon Speed with a Nikon Monarch 5 (3-15 x 42) which just keeps getting better the more I shoot it. Also have the X-Bolt Medallion in .308 but haven't started working up a load for it yet, it is already sub MOA with factory rounds and is my “Huntin' Rifle”. Have a Weatherby Mark V Deluxe in .270WBY that I will sell in the near future, beautiful rifle, sub MOA but kicks like a Missouri Mule! I'm too old to ride the recoil any more! 'Bout all, lookin' forward to the new site and learnin' somethin' new I ain't learned yet so Y'all come on over when ya can set a spell.

Welcome aboard from another ex-chief. Don't feel bad about the kids joining the Army, I was an Army brat that joined the Navy :D

Come on now, you may be an X Sub Sailor but you know there ain't no such thing as an ex-Chief! Once a Chief, always a Chief! I climbed back into my Dress Blues to attend my son's Commisioning and was Honored to render his "Silver Dollar" salute. 'Course, now I send him weekly texts on "The Care and Feeding of New Officers" so I get my revenge!
