Just wanted to show my new Traditions Outfitter G2 in 45-70.

I topped it off with a leupold 2x7 with the low rings.

I had been looking for a single shot in 45-70 for a聽while now and the rifle I thought I wanted could not be found. So here it is.

I have not had the chance to fire it yet but God willing this weekend we will.

The rifle has a built in muzzle brake. I have never owned or shot a rifle with one so this will be now.

I will let you know how it goes. Smiles

Good questions.

The barrel is 22 inches long.

How I talked myself into it was I told myself I needed a back up rifle for deer hunting. Smiles.

This way I could reason on buying it. Lol.

I鈥檒l be surprised if you find that you need a聽muzzle break. That said, it might help balance it out a bit. 聽

Make sure to update us when you鈥檝e had a chance to shoot it.聽

I will do my best on updates.

I have various types of 45-70 to try. Anywhere from cowboy action, all the way up to plus p Buffalo bore?

I would have it will do well.

Our hunting lease has some pretty dense stuff on it so we shall see. Smiles

That's about the nicest styled SS I'v seen. It looks very ergonomically shaped.聽 I have to add tho, it was proven many years ago that the big heavy soft lead tipped bullets were actually the worst performers in dense brush. The FMJ was by far the best. Silver tip Winchesters followed and what ever else had the least exposed lead at its tip. The worst were hollow based shot gun slugs!聽 Hey I like the 45-70 also. Even plan on building a couple but brush busting is not an attribute as far as the indepth testing showed.

Good to know.

I have been looking this rifle over.聽

About the only thing I would like different at this time is the break button. It鈥檚 made of a pretty hard plastic? I am kind of old school when it comes to things like that.

I would think that a good machinist could fabricate one out of Steel? But we shall see.

Thank you.
