Burt Reynolds, the legendary actor who starred in iconic films including "Smokey and the Bandit" and "The Longest Yard" has died, Fox News confirms. He was 82.

Reynolds was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in "Boogie Nights" in 1997.

He spent 60 years acting for TV and Film. That is a long time to stay in an industry that has so drastically changed. I grew up seeing him in movies and he was a household name.

For any of the East TN members I would recommend watching his latest movie that was filmed around Knoxville. The movie wasn't great but it was neat seeing the local spots in the film.  It was called The Last Movie Star.

RIP for sure and his movies always were fun to watch and 60 years is definately a long time in that industry. I can close my eyes and hear that laugh he had in Smokey and the Bandit.

Oh man... I remember being a kid and sneaking in my grandma's room. My cousin and I came across a certain magazine with a certain... well set of pictures! First bearskin rug I ever saw in my life! Good ol Burt!

Mike! I miss you!! Was in Knoxville and stopped by Bud's. I asked about you. Monkey and I will check in next time we are heading that way!
