The story says it’s almost as good as a .308 Winchester. :)

Finally. I've been looking for something that's almost as good as .308 for a long time.:stir:

I guess the only benefit I see is that you can build it on an ar15 lower instead if an ar10.

Will be a while before components like barrels are common and cheaper...if it catches on.

Would be good for night hunting. Expensive pig gun, but barrels will come out.

I think the barrel and mag swap being the only thing needed to make a .223 into this might help it.

I would try one out on some pigs if I could find any to hunt that is not gonna cost me $3k+ or a 10 hour drive

Just saw this today. They are calling it the 30-30 for the AR. Anyone know anything about it?

I know many will disagree, but comparing a new cartridge to a 30-30 doesn't impress me.  A 30-30 totally sucks, IMHO, for anything beyond 150-200 yards due to the heavy bullet which drops like a rock after 100 yards.  The 300Blk is compared to the 30-30 too, but is geared toward subs, this one says no subs.  Just not enough there for me.

I thought .300 blk was supposed to be the .30-30 for ar's.

Except it's hard to ask 3 grand for a 300BO AR ...

I just bought a new 300 Ham'r barrels. I put it on a 3yr. old American Tactical AR I have. I'm taking it out this weekend to warm it up. I read that it shoots flat and has consistent 1" moa. I'll let you know how it goes.

I just bought a 16" Bill Wilson barrel in 300 HAMR barrel today and hope to have the rifle built around the 1st of the New Year.    I will start with the 125 grain bullet and CFE-BLK as a powder.    There isn't much load data available, and some it is conflicting.    I was going to use 27 grains but one source says 26.5 is MAX.   Plan to use the rifle for WhitetailDeer and Hogs + plinking.
