So, I been looking at getting a small tool box for the house and was considering another snap on box, a sunex box or a matco, then I went to harbor freight and picked up the new series two cart for around $175 overall.  It pains me to say this, but it is not bad at all. Its impressive how far the quality has come, and its study, got great drawers and is NOT ####ty. But its only temporary. This is my end goal until I can find a cornwell dealer to shop up to my shop so I can order this https://sunextools.com/product/premium-full-drawer-pin-up-girl-service-cart-dorothy/

I use a US General 5 drawer cart for one of my boxes at work. It is very well made and can’t beat it for the price. It does the job needed without paying for the name.

Hey @Erik88 ... want to know how consumer driven medical care will drive costs down?  Here's a perfect example.

And I don't mean that as a barb in any way, it's just a great illustration.

Sorry for the thread-jack. Please resume your regularly scheduled tool box talk. :)

I have to but in. Lost harbor freight stuff is crap. They just happened to build something cheaper and not bad.

That is an awesome toolbox, I want it.

I know right. I was about to pick up another snap on box and started looking at carts instead. Somehow, i found myself looking at sunex and bam. A bad ass box. And the snap on bax was going to be a combat green to go with my combat tan. But this sunex is half the price and has a pin up.

That is a cool toolbox, but I cringe to see the price.  I have a bottom end Craftsman brand tool box from 2011.  More than the Harbor Freight one, but had more drawers. Still a bunch cheaper than the other listed brands. As a low volume home user I would rather buy more tools than a top end tool box. I lived years without one anyway.

It serves the purpose and cost 1/4 of what you initially looked at. While you really like the expensive one (which is really cool) you didn't buy it.

Only reason I have not bought it is because cornwell had yet to answer to my request for them to send a dealer to my work. Same thing for snap on. It sucks having to track down my old dealer for stuff.

I have seen on a garage forum where people buy Snap on emblems from China and put them on Harbor Freight tool boxes.

Yep, seen that too. It's like ordering Honda Emblems and putting them on a Rolls Royce. A real mechanic can spot a fake box in a heartbeat.............JMHO

Over the last 5/6 years, I have bought 3 tool carts from HF. My wife keeps grabbing them for her crafts supplies and as a rolling work table. They've held up very well, and the price was great. Always got them at sale times. Usually around 130 otd.

I have bought one of the US General boxes for my assorted tools in the shed and her workshop.

Both good enough for my use.

But my real storage for bigger tools is a 5 drawer file cabinet. It works great. Paid 60 for it at a salvage store. Wish there had been a few more at that price, I'd line the attached garage wall with them.
