West Virginia Strikes Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Agreements!

Friday, June 15, 2007

In West Virginia Right-to-Carry reciprocity agreements have been reached by Attorney General Darrel McGraw (D) with North Carolina, Ohio, Florida, and South Dakota. These agreements were made possible by the successful passage of House Bill 3074, which would amend reciprocity requirements as well as authorize the Attorney General to execute reciprocity agreements with other states pertaining to the recognition of permits to carry concealed handguns.

Kentucky and Virginia already recognize Right-to-Carry permits issued in West Virginia.

West Virginia is working to reach agreements with several other states, including Michigan, Montana, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Vermont.

With our society being so mobile, the more states that recognize one another's permits the better. Now if we could JUST get the airlines and feddies straightened out. Oh well.....wishing for a miracle.

I think Tennessee's law is that any state that recognizes a TN permit will have its permit recognized in TN. Not a bad law at all I must say.

But this whole patchwork approach is absurd. Push for mandatory reciprocity by all states. Can't wait to open carry in mid-town Manhattan.

Good luck on that Rabbi.

I'm not holding my breath. But you have to have some kind of goal in mind and that would represent the ultimate triumph in RKBA in this country.

With all seriousness; If that ever becomes a possibility, I'll go with you, and lunch at Ben's is on me.

Rabbi,

Tennessee acknowledges EVERYONE's permit. Whether or not they do ours. We simply have the reciprocity agreements to benefit our own people.

As to the OC trip to Manhattan, I am the youngest one here, and I don't see it happening in my lifetime, but I would tag along.
