Ad Closed not being used

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

The "Ad closed" is a great tool to show your item is no longer for sale, and to help other members from needlessly clicking on items that interest them, that are not really for sale anymore.

We regular members do a good job on editing after a sale, but seems a lot of the new members keep it active (green banner) even after the item is sold. Could there be a note banner posted over the classifieds asking members to update their ads? Or some way to get the message across?

Thanks.

I think the problem is that members often post an ad - and then just disappear for a while.

I wish there was an easy way for us to do this.

We used to expire ads after 30 days.  It kept things clean - but made it hard to go back and research price history.

I agree that it's frustrating when folks don't close their ads. Most regular users extend that courtesy.

I find it frustrating as well when folks edit and erase all data pertaining to a sale for just the reason you mentioned Mac. It's nice to see what the current TGO market is running.

I do appreciate TGO not expiring the ads. :)

I don't actually close and ad but I do go in and edit the ad as sold in every place I can find to mark it so folks know it's no longer for sale. I will try and start closing any ads I post in the future....
