Sad news out of OK Corral

This is crap! When somebody gets killed in a MVA the police stop traffic for a couple of hours, take pictures, ask questions, open traffic, and life goes on. Somebody takes a bullet and the media goes wild.

I'm sorry that the doctor got shot, but #### happens.

Are you suggesting it shouldn’t be a news story?  He was very well liked and an incredibly smart man. I have had some interaction due to my profession.  He also was the cardiologist to some of my friends and family. I’m not sure I understand your issue. MVA’s happen all the time,  a gun range death is far more rare.

Dang, that sucks. Accidents happen.

Ray when strange or really bad accidents happen the news covers it. We had a crash a month or so back where people were killed while riding in the bed of a truck, the news channels posted up for that one for a couple days here.

Not to mention a gun range death is far more relevant on a gun forum than a MVA.

I have seen a lot of news about MVA's when there is a death involved. In really bad accidents I have seen highwys blocked for several hours or longer and they are always on the nightly local news. They just don't make news here unless a member is involved............JMHO

No, I'm suggesting that the drive-by-media takes it beyond that. But not this time, I'm pleased to say. Usually you read things that are not true, or twisted half truths. Are they selling news papers? In Tennessee, I don't think so. Most media have an anti gun agenda and write the story to fit it. That's what I meant.

I don’t see any agendas. Because so far I haven’t seen even any speculation as to what happened. That makes me think it’s a suicide. If it’s something else we should know the cause.

I tend to agree with the suicide theory. If he had been shot by somebody else at the range, or had a AD and shot himself, the media would be all over it.

I was thinking ND, self or by another.  Nothing in the story suggests, well, anything, so it's wide open at this point.  Not sure about suicide, just seems like an unlikely place for it, but I could be wrong.  Don't most ranges have video?  If so, I'm sure that's why the "No foul play" headline, even though an ND is wrongly labeled a "Tragic accident", it is correct, IMO, saying no foul play involved.

Well prayers go out to his family regardless of what the circumstance turn out to be. A loss of life is bad however it happens. It seems this man was a very talented heart surgeon and was very well like by most everyone that knew him.
