If it is held up, I fully expect the GOP to invoke Harry Reid and exercise the nuclear option.

I certainly would hope they have the fortitude to do it.

Mea culpa and all that, I didn’t realize that it had already been done for Gorsuch. My bad.

Sometimes I get the impression you guys think that the left are the only ones that play dirty. Have you forgotten that this is exactly what the GOP did after Scalia died? So, if this is in fact held up it will simply be a repeat of what McConnell did.

I personally don't think they will have any issue getting the next justice appointed.

No...the politicians on both sides of the aisle suck and that goes without saying. The difference I see is socialists have no problem inciting violence, slander etc to achieve their goals. And I'm pretty sure you may be the only one that thinks getting the next justice appointed won't be a problem.

I cannot believe that Trump doesn't already have the names of at least three Supreme Court nominees ready to go.  I expect we'll see them test-marketing candidates before the weekend.

He has a list of 25. 20 from the last time with 5 added since then. He said yesterday he will be selecting someone from that list.

EDIT:

Here is the list...

Amy Coney Barrett of Indiana, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit

Keith Blackwell of Georgia, Supreme Court of Georgia

Charles Canady of Florida, Supreme Court of Florida

Steven Colloton of Iowa, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit

Allison Eid of Colorado, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit

Britt Grant of Georgia, Supreme Court of Georgia

Raymond Gruender of Missouri, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit

Thomas Hardiman of Pennsylvania, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit

Brett Kavanaugh of Maryland, U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit

Raymond Kethledge of Michigan, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit

Joan Larsen of Michigan, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit

Mike Lee of Utah, United States Senator

Thomas Lee of Utah, Supreme Court of Utah

Edward Mansfield of Iowa, Supreme Court of Iowa

Federico Moreno of Florida, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida

Ted Cruz is pushing Mike Lee. I think he would make a great Justice, but at the same time, I'd hate to lose a Conservative Senator.  He's only 47 so he'd be around for a long time.

The short includes both Mike Lee and his brother, Tom Lee.  I like both.  Sen Mike Lee is not a judge, however, while Tom Lee is.

Both sides are quite good at inciting violence. Which side mowed down a crowd of people in Charlottesville?

Which politician on the right incited this violence?

Neither side. It was a long person that was deranged. Far from being a "side".

The Dems had already done their nuke option under Reid to include all judges but SCOTUS, as they couldn't get BHO's appointments confirmed.

Then Mitch did same for SCOTUS to get Gorsuch through.

The tax cut was done in Senate by avoiding the 60% cloture on debate with some gray flimflam called the "Byrd Rule" that applied to fiscal legislation only.

In short, the "rules" are whatever the party in power says they are.

Yea it is all those Federal judges Obama appointed in California that have been fighting Trumps blocking of immigrants coming in from the Middle East without first being vetted. You can be there won't be any California judges on Trumps list.............JMHO

They better not put anyone but Hard core conservatives on the nominee list.  Im for upholding the constitution but we need to play the same hardball the dems play or well lose our country

While I don’t exactly agree with “hardcore conservatism”, or “ists”, I do want a conservative Supreme Court.  I’d like to see a court that leans more to the right for the next 20 or 30 years.

All I want is someone who will read and adhere to the constitution. It ain't that hard really.

I'm good with that too. Of course, it's always a bonus when we get some of this...

Yep.  Swatting at imaginary bugs sure sounds better than muttering obscenities and arguing with spirits.
