Velvet buck hunt

Well I was in the tree at 4:45 this morning and stayed till 10:30. Didn’t see any deer but it’s so thick where I’m hunting so they could have walked by 40 yards away and I’d never have known. It really felt good to be back in the tree again! And thank you to whoever invented the dang Thermacell. Seriously one of the greatest tools made for hunting early season and sometimes late season if you’re by water. Lifesaver for sure! Congratulations to Shaun and anyone else who got the chance to harvest a velvet buck this weekend. Now the countdown to the official archery opener!

Glad I wasn't the only one who didn't see anything. The last two weeks my camera footage has dropped 90%. I know patterns change about this time of year but sure hoping it picks back up and some new bucks show up as well.

We are over run with with deer in our neighborhood, there's some really nice 8 and 10 point bucks roaming around in everybody's yards. There's a handful of folks feeding them but the houses are so close together I'm not sure how someone could take one safely. I'm sure it's not healthy for them to be so overpopulated.
