Help needed with temporary storage

Recommended Posts

Posted

Am having garage floor coated and I’m need of an enclosed trailer to rent for two or three days.  The ones from uhaul are only around 4ft 10in and I need about 6ft interior and maybe 8 to 10 ft long. Have a refrigerator, toolbox and couple of other items to put in it in my driveway while coating cures. Anybody know of a solution. Renting a truck with lift gate or a pod are much more than I need for three days.

Any ideas

Thanks

Sorry, meant to say the following - a pod (checked two vendors of pods) were $350 to $400 with most of that the charge to deliver and then return to collect.  A truck (with lift gate) rental was over $300.  Just looking for options at this point - still have a couple of weeks till I have to have it, but the items are heavy and bulky and I'm old and bulky.

Thanks for the replies - checked the Lowes prices - think they use one of the pod suppliers I checked before and prices are even higher - though I can get a veterans discount.  The pod guys kill you in the Delivery and Pickup charges - they're more geared to longer term storage.  A 12 ft truck may be the best option except the lack of a loading ramp makes it problematic.  I would like to plug the refrigerator in while locked up in the storage unit.  Ease of use is a big priority.

When we moved in a while back, movers had a truck with lift gate on it and it leaked hydraulic fluid.  Not good on concrete.  Also, we have a short driveway so just trying to be efficient.

Thanks for all the suggestions.  I'm sure I'll come up with something.

Did you check out the "U-Box" at U-Haul? Internal Dimensions: 95" x 56" x 83.5" (LxWxH)
Looks to me like you can rent one for $70 and keep it for 30 days.

Dave, thanks, didn't realize they had a self delivery option.  Their deliver and pickup option was 139 each way.  I'll run down there today and see how long the trailer is and how high of a ramp I'd need if it doesn't come off the trailer (which it probably won't).  This may work, but since I'm loading myself I'm trying to find the easiest solution without a ridiculous cost for 3 days.

Thanks for the idea.
