When will it all implode?

Does it feel the same everywhere? Does it feel safer in the heartland? Here on the west coast, I feel a sense of doom that is becoming nearly overwhelming. I’ve been heavily invested in the fight to keep our State gun rights for the last 8 years. Endless rallies at the State capital, and countless letters to my representatives are beginning to feel like a true waste of time.

There is a definite sense of loss here. We lost an important battle a few years ago, when State law changed to prohibit person to person sales without an FFL. It was a crushing blow to us locals who recognize that loss of freedom. Frankly...I nearly moved out of State over it, but my youngest was still here at the time.

With the leftist stranglehold on the media, I’m considering the possibility that we on the left coast are in a virtual blackout of real information though.

Is the feeling the same there back at home, or is it mostly my close proximity to all these commie ####s?  Opinions please!!

That is a shame. California is a beautiful state with some nice people. I agree with you. There is a tension everywhere and I blame the media for every 5 minutes saying "BE AFRAID!"  We are either going to have a socialist revolution with California becoming a People's Utopia where a small group of liberal elites will decide what we need (They will keep us safe by having curfews and limiting where you can go.) or the pendulum will swing back towards sanity. Sooner or latter there will be a pushback against the neo-liberals. When their ideas fail.

I’m in Washington actually. You couldn’t pay me enough to live in California with their draconian gun laws. Although, I am firmly convinced that we’re on the fast track to those same laws....we here still have most of the same constitutional rights.( open carry without a license, “shall issue” concealed carry licenses”, no “assault rifle” bans and no magazine limitations. A couple of years ago we also gained SBR rights back as well. That was a big win for us.

Keep an eye on Seattle, as they go so will the state, and they have a large liberal voting block.  It's a west coast infection that will spread, we may slow it down some, but it is slowly infecting all major cities.

Infection is a good choice of word. Let’s face it though, it isn’t just the west coast. The Liberal east coast is just as bad, and the infection is spreading inland from both sides. I’m afraid we’re outflanked. Their goal being from sea to shining sea.

My worst fears are that we’ll reach a critical mass of popular opinion, and legislation will take root in places that otherwise wouldn’t have...thanks to the leftist media terror blanket.

Agree on the issue of critical mass RockHopper. Too many people are ignorant and stupid these days, as a result of the indoctrination routine called "Education". Critical thought and self examination are not merely left untaught, but actively discouraged. Just do what you're told and take this simple math problem that's been unnecessarily complicated and solve it the way you're told - no credit if you don't do it the right way, we are concerned with process, not results!

I moved to the great state of Tennessee 3 years ago, from similar circumstances you describe up in NY. I had heard it for years, but it took me a long time to understand and appreciate the concept of 'voting with my feet'. Don't be afraid, it's really not as bad as it seems, and frankly, after the fact now, I can't believe I didn't do it sooner. Wish I would have, would have been easier on the kids! By your description, it sounds like that's no longer a concern for you.... so do it. Get the *&^#! out of dodge, and move somewhere you are welcome. If enough people do so, then those states, area's, regions, neighborhoods, will achieve 'critical mass', and be able to defend against the issues you express concern over.

We, like ReeferMac, escaped Western NY 3 years ago. Much like where you are, that area is very conservative, I would say as much as East TN is but NYC has taken over control of the whole state. I fought and marched on Albany and donated money for many years and we decided we were to old to waste our remaining years on a state that we couldn't stand anymore. As ReeferMac's family, we should have done it a lot sooner.

Life is good in TN.

Florida is a great example of the east coast issues. It was taken over by all of the folks moving down from the Northeast. One of the worst things to hear is new people moving into a state saying "well we did it this way in... Wherever...".

We like it here the way it is. I'd you want to change it we recommend you move somewhere else. Now, I cannot of course speak for everyone but I know a lot of folks are tired of the big city folks trying to tell everyone else how they should live.

So move out of the left leaning states before the kids get indoctrinated. Just realize it is different here and we like it just the way it is, well, for the most part. There are some left leaning folks in the big cities with some ideas we are not happy about.
