Trap?

Just shoot em

I have a method but cant post it.  If you have a serious infestation and some bait, you'll figure it out.

You will be very hard pressed to trap them.  Snares and let holds are the best methods for trapping if you do go that route.  I don't like snares, they kill indiscriminately.  A cushioned leg hold is an option, they too don't discriminate, but at least they don't kill.

I was just curious, as I did some trapping in my teen years and enjoyed it. Of course, the only coyote we saw were in the cartoons, and he was always chasing a roadrunner. Thanks for your replies.

I've trapped a fair share of coyote over the last ten years. Snares are my choice. Make sure they are legal in your area. Also make sure they are the correct size and don't forget to use deer stops. If you set them correctly you won't catch non-target animals for the most part. A stray dog is about the only animal (again if the trap is correctly set) you might catch. As of yet all my animals were alive when the traps were checked. Keep in mind the traps need to be checked every 24 hours.

I have a friend that lives outside Hartsville that has about 130 acres and he is over run with Yotes. He tried to tolerate having them around till one got hold of one of his house dogs. Didn't kill it but cost him a big vet bill and shots for all his other 3 house dogs so now he has began shooting them. It is about 80 to 100 yards from his back porch to his wood line and he keeps the hay cut regularly and so far has killed 9 with bait. Game warden in his area told him he can kill them since they got close enough to the house to catch one of his small house pets. He was having trouble seeing them in the woodline so he took his tractor and bushhog and cut a circle up near the wood line about 25 yards around and began putting the bait. dead chickens he traded a farmer down the road from him some hay for. The farmer is also having a yote problem trying to get in his chicken coupes. He said they have torn up his chicken wire pens a couple times so he has had to go to a tuffer wire and put posts closer  together. He has began trapping and shooting them also.
