my prayers have been sent. I lost my grandfather two weeks ago, he is at peace in CA, I could not go to the services, heart wrenching, he was my buddy, and one that I can truley count on.

the hardest part for me was not being able to make it to CA to say goodbye while he was in the hospital, and then not being able to carry him to his final resting place.

its kinda why I have been scarce around here...gathering thoughts and putting things in perspective.

If you need anything, you know where to find me...

you and your family will be in our thoughts.

I've lost all 4 grandparents over the past 15 years, and my father passed a couple of years ago. You are lucky you have notice and can make peace, but it doesn't make it any easier. stay strong

Well it's been a couple of weeks. They gave him 2 days and he hung on a month. My Grandfather finally passed away today. He was an Auto worker, a police officer, and a soldier, but mostly he was my best friend. I'm gonna miss him alot, but I got to talk to him this past month and there was nothing left unsaid. He even got to be at my wedding. I wanted to thank you all so much for the support and kind words. They meant the world.

Looks like he had a good life. I like the middle picture. Daddy's havin' a smoke before going out on the beat.

God bless you and your family.

It looks like he lived a full life, and you got to be with him at the end of it, and say the things you wanted to say.

That January '56 snapshot is classic.....Sam Browne belt with cartridges in single loops, crossdraw wheelgun, and smokin' in the house !!!!

Our sincerest condolences go out to you and your family. Your Grandfather sounds like an amazing man. The middle picture gave me goose bumps.

If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask.

Yea he loved his Lucky Strike no filters. He walked a beat in a suburb of Detroit back in the 50's.

Thanks again guys for all the support.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I lost both my grandparents on the same side within a little over a year of each other. It hurts so bad now, but stay strong and remember the good times and all the things he taught you throughout the years. You are very lucky to have had that extra month with him to get everything out and tell him exactly how you felt, cherish those times you had with him. I am sure he is looking down telling all his buddies how proud he is of you. God bless you, your family, and your Grandfather.
