Is there something I’ve missed?

I’ve never built an ar in anything but 5.56. My understanding was that all the AR caliber lowers were exactly the same , except a few oddballs like 9mm.

So I got an email from PSA and it’s advertising 6.5 creedmore lowers, 5.56 lowers and this new Valkyrie Lower. All appear to be exactly the same but all different prices and labeled as their own thing.

I need some edumacation.

the 6.5,308,224 valkyrie and a few others actually use the ar10 lower.the 5.56,300,7.62x39,6.8 and 9mm with a block all use the 5.56.I'm sure i missed some calibers but that's pretty much the jest of it.

umm unless im missing something the interwebz says no

This is the inter-web‘s. That’s why I asked. I’ve never messed with that round but I had always thought it was a regular 5.56 lower. But even so, why would the 224 Valkyrie be a different lower than the creedmoor if both ar10?

its a 6.8 necked down to a 223 bullet.so it does take a normal ar15 lower

Dammit . Still confused . Says 224 Valkyrie is ar-15, creedmoor 10, and I know the 5.56. So why do you need a different lower for the Valkyrie and the 5.56 at a premium?

Are they marked as said caliber? Not as 'multi?'

I guess. I thought strange, but I’ve never considered building an ar in anything other than 5.56, except 458 socom, at some point . The 6.5 Grendel has always intrigued me but Alexander arms... I’m not sure it has a long shelf life as an available cartridge.

it is based on an ar15 lower, it is just marked valkyrie, I assume because some people are finicky about things like that. Mine, I just slapped a valkyrie barrel and BCG in one of my guns that I wasn't using, as I was thinking this would be the cheapest way for me to get into the caliber in case it is a flop I won't be out much. 6.5 creedmoor is in the AR10 family btw.
