Both, Springfield Armory and Academy Sports, are on my naughty list.

I bought a Daniel Defense M4V11 Pro at Buds Gun Shop & Range in Sevierville instead.

I exclusively shoot brass-cased ammo, usually PMC. If you leave a hot (temperature) rifle chambered with lacquer-coated steel case ammo, you are risking a stuck case.

Why would you ever do that?

Looks like you bought all of it since it's says out of stock. :dirty:

On a serious note, I've never had much luck with lacquer coated steel case ammo cycling consistently.

I've not had that problem. Guess it depends on the gun.

What’s wrong with SA and Academy?

While I have no problem with steel-cased ammo in an AR, it’s not just lacquer coated ammo that will lock it up.  Mine froze on a poly cased round after I let it sit around too long in a hot chamber.  If you don’t keep one of those rounds lingering in a hot rifle so the coating melts then it’s not a problem.

Pay special extra attention to cleaning he chamber after using coated ammo.  It’s just another minute with some Hoppe’s to get rid of it.

You don't clear your weapon after you finish shooting?

You may want to re-read what I stated before making assumptions that go further down a rabbit hole. Did I state that I do or don't clear my AR after I am done shooting? What does being done shooting even mean? I emptied a magazine? I am leaving the range?

Old news.   Academy is still the only big box retailer in this market that sells modern sporting rifles...and what a stupid gun-culture PC term that is for assault rifles, lol.

Sure, it's less than 2-years old and they put them back on the shelf. They do PC both ways.

Hell, they didn’t have rifles to put on shelves at that time . Nobody did .

Yes, they did, at least in West Knoxville they did. I went to check and see if they really did hide them and asked at the counter to see an AR.

Don’t leave them loaded.  Simple, and safe, solution.

No, it's not. It's rather unsafe. You do not go to a training class to learn and repeat all day how to unload your rifle. In contrast, you go there to learn and repeat all day how to keep that rifle loaded at all times. After all, what good is an unloaded rifle for.

The 4 rules of firearm safety shall not be violated. None of them state: keep your firearm unloaded. In fact, the first one states to treat all firearms loaded, so why not keep them loaded?

Well, your experience is different than mine. I’ve never had any problem at Academy or with any of their policies. When ammunition was nearly impossible to find, academy still kept the prices cheap and kept as much available as possible. I’m not 100% sure I trust all of the sources  Of the links you shared. However, you have your reasons for believing that you do and I respect that.Of the links you shared. However, you have your reasons for believing that you do and I respect that.

I will say that CTD and midway lost my business during that time . They jacked up their prices and discontinued their discount programs, respectively  . Now they are begging for my business . I do not forget!!!!

As for political donations from RIA and Springfield, I could likely be accused of the same thing . I have , at various times been a member of organizations that ended donating money to people and organizations I did not/do not support. As soon as I realized , I withdrew . However, if someone wanted to write and article about me or make a political ad, they’d likely use that to “prove” that I suck .

Well, myself, I ALWAYS value the opinion of a three year member who has posted only in controversy threads, mostly in the last month...
