A friend of mine told me that he found an old rifle in the attic of the house he now owns. He asked me if I thought it might be worth something. I don't know any details about yet other than it is a percussion cap rifle. He thinks it is military issue due to the shoulder strap connectors. I think he is supposed to bring it to my office on monday. I will try to get more info and possibly some pics then. Thanks in advance to anyone who might know anything about this. He did tell me that the stock was a little messed up and the barrell had some slight rust on the outside of it.

I'll give you $50 for it sight unseen! :tinfoil: Sounds like a great find. I don't know what the value of it might be, I guess depending on the condition, rarity, and significance in any conflict it may have played a part in. I sure would like to have a find like that. I would guess a civil war era blackpowder rifle in complete condition would be worth at least $500-800 bucks if not more.
