Probably the best deal I have seen in .308 are the South African battle-packs. I don't know if they are corrosive or not, but you can still find them here and there.

I don't know of any good deals going on right now..I got 1400 rounds (300 match grade) a few months ago for 480 bucks...

If I run across another deal like that and I don't have the drachmas to buy them, I'll holler at ya!

Yeah, ammo is falling off the shelf. I got 1000 rounds of the lith ball in the door for right at 500 from these guys here, and they give good service and no tax like wideners:

They have some winchester ball on the shelf, but its pricey.

I dont know if you can say good deal and ammo in the same sentence anymore.

I got some from www.grafs.com not too long ago. their prices include shipping. if you buy more the $150, you get a discount. If you have a C&R, you can get setup with dealer pricing. I was pleasantly surprised by their dealer pricing.

I waited a day and missed out on some GGG Lith that they had.:screwy:

I heard a rumor that Wal-Mart sold Federal 150 grn .308 for 12.97 per box (20). I looked at 5 wal-marts and 3 had the space for it on the shelf but all were out. I just happened to be in Jackson, TN and thier wal-mart had 6 boxes. I bought them all. They said they just got them in that morning.

With tax on that you used to do better ordering for large lots. Now it looks like the best deal running. Glad I don't need anything ATM.

I've been buying WInchester Super-X .308 for about $17/box. Until the end of the month, Winchester also has a rebate for $5 back per box, making it $12 for $20. Considering the SA battlepacks are averaging $100+ shipped on GB, this seemed like a good deal!

The South African is not corrosive, but I dont think its reloadable either.

NOT corrosive and IS reloadable. That is unless you are shooting it out of a HK91.
