Well I have reached the point of what I "need" or , LOL , what I want  , in handguns. I have the Glock platform , the 1911 , and the Beretta M9 . I am to where I see what I want. And "want" is not needed. For some crazy reason I cant explain , I want the Springfield XD9 Mod2 Gray frame and the Stoeger Cougar in 45 ACP .  I don't know why I keep going back to these 2 . I have been beating myself over and over for the last few months. The Stoeger isn't made anymore and  doesn't have parts made for it for sale . That's a big minus ! The S.A. doesn't have parts readily available like Glock or Beretta to where I could just go pick up a part on the spare of the moment. I like them both . I have had the Cougar and it was great . I haven't had the S.A.  XD9 Mod2. I have had the XD9 Service but not the Mod2. Anyways , just thinking outloud . Maybe this discussion will benefit someone ?

I guess we all have different handguns we would like in our safe. Over the past 2 years I have bought 20 handguns and sold most to buy the others.

I have boiled my keepers to the Sig P226 SAO Legion, Sig P320 X-Carry, CZ 75 Compact, CZ RAMI, and a Sig P320 Compact 45.

These work forme with competition, home defense, and just plain fun at the range. I wish you the best in your search.

The first handgun I ever bought was a Beretta 8045 Cougar & I haven't regretted it for a second. They're exceptional shooters & have a milder recoil than any 1911 I've ever shot. It's my main choice for daily carry unless I need deeper concealment. Then I reach for my LC9S. :usa:

'Need'?  What does 'need' have to do with anything? :dirty:

You have reached a very temporary condition known as 'wantless'.  That is to say that you do not currently 'want' anything else.

There is no need to worry about it.  The condition is always temporary and will soon pass.  Almost before you know it, you will read an article, pass a store window, or just have a fond memory and your 'want' will be back in full force and active.

I finally bought the North American Arms mini-revolver. It has taken many years but I have always wanted an NAA mini-revolver. I told myself "That is the last handgun I would buy." Every time I saw one at my LGS, I just couldn't bring myself to buy one because I had other handguns I needed more. I bought the Sidewinder 22 magnum with the bird heads grip and swing out cylinder. I was surprised at how easy this gun is to shoot and how accurate it is a close range. (0-10 feet).  At this time, I cannot see the need for more.....so I think I'll start trading in some of my safe queens for new safe queens.

I hadn't planned on "wanting" another pistol, but now that I have my HCP, my mind has changed.  I really don't know why.  I have a .45 ACP XDs and a Keltec P32, already.  But dropped the wife and daughter to a baby shower in Maryville and and then swung by Gunny's and then Bill's Outpost (this is a hidden gem here!!!) and looked at a number of small CC firearms. I have to admit that I have never been a fan of of M&Ps but I really liked the Shield I dry fired and also the Cancik TP9??? I also like the looks of the Ruger LCRx with the 3" barrel.  So... what to do? :)

I bought my wife a Ruger LCRX in 22 mag with a 3" barrel. I keep waiting for Ruger to put a 3" barrel on the 357 mag LCRX. And I keep waiting for Ruger to make a 22LR LCRX with a 4" barrel. I just got a Smith 66-8 with the 2 3/4" barrel to go with my 642. I would REALLY LOVE to find a Smith Night Guard in .357. And an older 586 L-Comp. And a Ruger Wiley Clapp GP100 and SP101. I really think you need all of those too.:biglol::angel:

Wheel guns. Do you shoot .357 loads in those short barrel Smiths? Is it like some people say? "Too much recoil and too hard to shoot accurately" I carry a model 36 3".

I do. I've shot full house magnums in a J-frame 640 and it didn't get "out of hand." The 640 wasn't as accurate as the 686 2 1/2 though.

I have both a 2" and 3" SP with improved grips. They are  hefty and the overall shape don't make for a small footprint.

Prefer .38/.38+p, but no issues with shooting .357. Due to the retort, I prefer .38 over .357 for SD.

Same here for the most part. I've been using Underwood cast lead hollow point 158 grain in the plus p load. I've liked it enough that it has earned a place as a woods walking load.
