Story of the Day!

Well it was bound to happen sooner or later. I got hurt at work.

STAT call to deal with a Psych patient. Make the scene and the dude is chilled out. He's hopping back up in the bed RNs are getting him cleaned up. He had pulled out his IV so there was blood everywhere.

I disregard my other officers and I'm explaining to the guy why he needs to relax and why he has to stay. All of the sudden he bolts up and jumps for the door. He slams into the glass, I grab him, and it's on. I get him in a choke-hold and over the bed we go. Radio comes off, my back gets slammed into the bed-rail, and when we hit my shoulder goes POP. We put him in restraints and he gets some night night juice.

Meanwhile I have to fill out paperwork, get x-rays, and be off until Saturday. Luckily my shoulder has been dislocated before so it pretty much pops in and out like Mel Gibson's in Lethal Weapon lol

No "new" damage, but I'm on pain meds and home bound until I get checked out again tomorrow. Fun day. On top of it all I have a sinus infection from Hades.

Thanks bro! I don't mind taking the abuse. If it hadn't of been me it would have been one of the nurses that got hurt. It's my job to make sure they leave the way they came to work. If I take a few lumps, but we all get to go home it's a good day.

It really does go to show though that you can NEVER underestimate or predict what someone is gonna do.

About 2 or 3 weeks ago at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga an HIV positive midget wacked out and started running up and down the hall pissing on everything and threating to piss on people.He was saying "I's got Aids,I's piss on you" and point his pecker and piss towards folks.He had to be Tasered.My Mother is an RN and was on duty at the time,she said it was the funniest thing she had seen in a long time.

Tell the truth! When you were laying the smack down on this guy, it was kinda therapeutic to release that bottled up stuff you been holding since the last fight you had with the ole lady. HUH? Don't lie!
