So the guy gets rear ended, the car that hits him takes off.  he gets their license plate on camera but decides to pursue anyways.  Watch for results.

***langauge warning - couple of curse words loud***

I understand the frustration with somebody leaving the scene of an accident but it is never a good idea to chase them.  He did a lot more damage to his car than the other person did.

I agree it's never a good idea to chase. If they are willing to leave the scene what else are they willing to do? Plus, you just became the aggressor.

exactly, they probably did a few hundred in damage to his bumper or whatever and he had all the evidence he needed.  Plus like Triple said, you don't know why they're running.  It could end very badly.

This is why I have a dash cam in my truck. I get evidence, and be calm.

Same here, got mine at Wally World for $20. Works great thus far. Video is hard to dispute.

Probably the same one I got, Black Web. I need to pull the card and check the quality. I have it set at 20 minute loops for 720p.

Good luck with that!! Insurance companies never want to pay but they want that premimum payment paid to protect you. I have been shopping for a new insurance company. I'm tired of getting increases every time I get my bill yet I have not had any claims in over 20 years and any tickets in about that same length of time. When I ask them why it is going up and they said that it is because of the cost of these new rear camera bumpers costing so much when they get hit plus there has been so many claims for cars in the fires in California and the floods. I tell them I hvae not hit one of those damn bumpers and I have not had a vehicle in a flood or fire and they say it's increases across the board. I am going to hunt for a company without a board..........

If you have an accident and forget to stop it, is the content gone 20 minutes later?

Mine resets & the data is gone. Need to shut it down soon after, if it's still running. YMMV.

When I bought mine, there was another guy there @ W'mart looking also. He was looking to buy another for his daughter. He'd had to use his after an accident where the other guy denied crossing center line. Video told the tale, he won the case.

No, it saves in 20 minute segments, for however many it can fit on the card, then it starts over at the top again and overwrites the oldest. If you need to find something, it is broken into 20 minute groups, not one or two minutes.
