Moving to Franklin from LA

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Greetings all, just wanted to introduce myself as I will be leaving Kalifornia at the end of April and moving to Franklin.

A little about me, I'm an ex-army infectious disease guy (2002 - 2006) and spent most of my time at Walter Reed and a little bit overseas. I try to shoot fairly regularly but between work and family it usually ends up being about once a month or so. Hobbies other than driving my kids around include guns, watches and hopefully sports cars in the future.

I have a few ARs, an IWI X95, M&P 45, the old M9 and few 22's (I like my 22's :dirty:).

If time permits I'd like to start doing some long range  target shooting, which is not something easily available in the LA area when you spend your weekends driving to soccer tournaments from San Diego all the way out to Bakersfield.

I would also like to try some IDPA and will probably buy a few new guns once I get there and can buy what I want instead of whats available on the Cali roster.

Thanks in advance and hope to meet some people in person from time to time,

Adam

Welcome to Tennessee Adam, and thank you for your service! Once you get here and get settled in, please give us a visit at Royal Range. We are located in Bellevue, about 20-30 minutes or so from Franklin. We host 2 IDPA matches monthly and have a couple of different leagues as well. Oh, and we have a couple of non-commifornia compliant guns for you to purchase as well.

Welcome to the group and to Tennessee. Thank you for you service. I think you will find a laidback atmosphere here in TN.

If you want to shoot long range, the best place around here is Strategic Edge.  The bad news is there is a waiting list to join.  I would contact them and get on the list now.  Memberships renew in June and your best bet to get in will be coming up not long after you get here if people don't re-up.  It's 30 min from Franklin.
