TGO Site Delays

Recommended Posts

Particularly over the last week, having periodic 10-30 second delays on pages. Sometimes over a minute. Most often at wee hours, but sometimes, like today, during the day also.

Comcast cable. I generally have several tabs open, so I always refresh another site just to check, and they always are lickedy split (tech term) while still waiting on TGO page to fire up or refresh. No diff whether router in place or straight from modem.

Get consistent .5 MB/second or faster on FTP download from my own webspace (both Network Solutions managed domain and Comcast space), so everything else seems hunky dory (tech term 2).

Nobody else?

I get a bit of lag here and there once in a while but nothing major. Comcast drops my connection a couple times an hour anyway so I don't usually notice the lag as I'm pounding my modem with my fists in anger.

Seen it from time to time. I assume it's related to the recent server move. There's also the possibility that, thanks to our new Messiah, traffic around here is picking up and contributing to taxing the server.

All in all, I don't really mind. (not that I'm accusing anyone of being a complainer, mind you)

Same here. I'm using Comcast as well.

I have noticed a bit of a slowdown these past few days, as well. A few times I even got the "network timeout" page on my browser. Other websites have been loading fairly quickly.

Don't really know if it is a TGO server or an ISP issue. I am using AT&T DSL.

I have gotten that some this week. The timeout page.

It's just something we will have to deal with until we can afford to upgrade to a dedicated server. Our current arrangement puts us on a virtual private server, shared with God only knows who. They probably aren't happy with the lags either as I know we generate quite a bit of traffic on that server.

Sorry.
