The problem with anything JJ touches is he starts with a pretty cool idea (look at his Damascus line on the site) but overkill’s the look everytime. Just cuz ya got 1000 tattoos (nothin wrong with that) doesn’t mean ya have to make every gun look like it. Now - let Sybo or GT start makin a Damascus 1911, I’m in!! [emoji1360]

Aesthetics aside (and I think this is probably the best looking handgun he's done yet, not that it's saying much), I wouldn't bet on JJ being able to build a functioning longslide.

Did he gift one to the President?

Come to that... when last did we HAVE a President that carried? Jackson? Grant?

Clearly not Fat Bill.... he couldn't even hold on to the biscuit.

No, much later than that.  Theodore Roosevelt carried a handgun, during his time as president and afterward.

There's a story that I think appeared in the American Rifleman detailing how, years after the Spanish American War, Roosevelt was being presented to the King of Spain, and as he bowed to the king, a handgun fell out of his coat.  :)

Yeah, we don't get presidents like that any more.

Cheers,

"My name is Jones. I carry a fire arm...(unbuttons coat, showing pistol), and I am running for President."

That'd be a landslide.

I wondered if Reagan or 43 might have carried... Reagan after Hinkly shot him, and 43 after 9/11.

BHO... with a firearm...  :biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol::biglol:

I figured Ron carried something. You can't take the old cowboy out of a man.
