Anyone tried Blackthorne AR kits?

So im feeling cheap....other reviews on the internet seem to point to a good value for the $$$ kind of like the RIA of AR's....anyone here tried their upper kits?

Seems to me somewhere they were affiliated with Hesse. If so, the indications I have heard are to steer clear of them.

Of course, some say the same thing about Century, but I love my Yugo AK from Century!

I'd like to hear further input from others on their(Blackthorne) uppers.

Yeah, Blackthorne used to be Hesse. Maybe they keep changing their name in an attempt to hide their reputation for making bad products.

Man I just asked this same thing on another forum! They seem to be the ONLY people with 6.8 uppers. They appear to be Stag uppers and I'm not sure how you could screw that up? I know they have a horrible rep with the AK guys, but they way things are I might give it a shot. Blackthorn/Vulcan/Hesse.

haha yeah I was looking at a 6.8 also Nate.....you should buy one and let me know if its good or not ;-D Or if you want to maybe we could work out a deal where we both pay half and then if its good one of us will keep it and the other will buy one...if it sucks we will put it back on gunbroker and re-coup what we can lol.

Over on the 68forum.com I asked and a guy just bought one on the 17th and got it today. He says it appears to be like any other AR he's ever seen. He is going to shoot it this week and report back.

My biggest question is the chamber and where to find a BCG! The only other real options are the ar15performance.com Xtreme build or a Stag from ar15sales.com. The Xtremes won't be available to at least March and the Stags (great Deal) are saying 6 mo. for delivery!
