Dan Wesson and Smith & Wesson

A couple things that got into my hand this week. At least something went ok.

A Dan Wesson. 357 Model 14. Or at least I think from the fixed front and rear sight. Trying to gauge the age, but not sure yet. Is probably in the early 80's. Got the barrel wrench and a leather holster too. I may look for more barrels.

A Smith & Wesson Model 1905 2nd Change  .38 Special/Service Cartridge in Nickle. Worn, but action feels smooth. Goes along with my blue 4th Change.

Over at the Dan Wesson forum I am told this is a Model 14-2 made in 1980. The grips are not original. They should be wooden.

Hope to get to shoot these soon.

Dan Wesson was/is a very good gun. Owned a few back about that time frame. That 357 was a shooting son of a gun.

Did you happen to pick up that DW in Greeneville?  I had my eye on one there and it disappeared.

He happened to be coming to JC. :dirty:

Lol. Well at least I know where's it at now. Ive grown quite fond of DW pieces the last couple years. Still regret not buying several that have been for sale on here.

I might have been talked out of it until I held it. Nice feeling piece.

I like the short barrel, I guess because my Papaw had a shiny S&W snub nose .357 when I was little. It was iconic to me, seeing it on his duty belt. If I could only shoot 1/2 as good as him.  I might try to find a good deal on a longer barrel at some point though.
