Hi all,

Im from Maryville which is 18 miles south of Knoxville, im here to see if there are any like minded people to get together as a group, and train and swap tips and tricks with. Would like to find a friend in Blount County with a rangs where we could do some shooting.

Thanks everybody, I dont think there are any "real" training groups anywhere near me anyway, but I thought id throw it out there. There are a couple of groups that are only interested in making money though, in a real world SHTF situation they are gonna be bait, lol.

Howdy from murvul. I'd like to find somewhere to shoot nearby as well, but it would seem that if you don't own the property or aren't part of the club, you're sol.

There's plenty of local training classes around TN. Attend some of them and you'll meet some like minded people real quick. CruelHandLuke is on your side of the state. Good luck on finding people who want to train I'm still working on that myself. Are you looking for any schools? Just curious as to what you're wanting

If you're willing to drive a bit. Cruelhand luke (Randy Harris) has an east TN north AL training group that meetsc atva range just over the AL line in warmer weather I think he charges $60 for the day. The subjects vary and I haven't gone to one of these sessions yet but I did take his low light class and I WILL be attending this summer a couple of times. Randy is a great guy and didn't waste time. The class was professional and worth every penny.

Look him up on here by his screen name and send him a pm to get on his email list. He also posts items on TGO in the training forum. Look through his old posts to see what he offers.

Its been in Dayton, TN tge last two times. He does it on the night that the time changes. It was very good. I'm likely to take it again.

If you do, bring a blue gun, and a training knife along with your edc flashlight to get the most out of it. Part of the class is simulations and this gear will be useful.

I don't know what you are shooting and I don't know if it's still opem, but Gunny's on Broadway has an indoor range. The closest outdoor range that I know of is Gatlinburg sportsmanship club on King branch rd. That's about a 30-45 min. drive. It's a members only accept for skeet. If you join there they have a 100 yard and archery range and the police department has a pistol range that can be used if they're not using. At lead that's how it used to be. I haven't been in years.

I think they've had an ownership change in the past year or two. I haven't personally been, but I've heard it's better.

I've never been to Gunny's. I forgot about it earlier but you can shoot sporting clays over off 129 at chillhowie sportmans club.
