Where would you take a Colt SAA......

....for some work?

I'm usually a do it yourself sort of guy, but I don't want to screw this one up. It is a first gen Bisley. I've shot it and it works, but the cylinder is pretty loose.

Ship it to Jim Martin in AZ. He is one of the best. He is where most Colt collectors will tell you to send it.

there is another fella that is very well respected but I will have to dig up his info.

You can can also go to coltforum and search on repair. Both of their info should come up.

Not that I know of. @Bob Wright  you know anybody local?

Keith Warner in Memphis is my 'smith of choice.  He has done (is doing) some work for me on my Single Actions, both Ruger and Colt.  He does excellent work, but don't be in a hurry for it!

Greg...

Call Hamilton Bowen at Bowen Classic Arms and see if he would be willing to work on it... Ya could drive it over to his place there at Louisville, TN... If the cylinder is loose, it make take a new cylinder bushing to fix... Sometimes he will work on these colts... I trust him completely with anything... He is a lovely man and is a genuine gunsmith artist... I would trust him with anything... period...  Give him a call at
Phone (865) 984-3583...

E-mail shop@bowenclassicarms.com

I recommend talking to him about the specifics of this one...

I mentioned Keith without regard to such excellent 'smith as Hamilton Bowen and Dave Clements, as it is my understanding they only take in work that is their "cataloged" scope of work.  Sure don't mean to slight any gunsmiths.

I remembered that there is a fellow over in Sparta that does a lot of work on Colts.(this is not the guy that makes the fakes Colt boxes from Sparta)  He is a member on Coltforum and the members all like his work.  His business name is Deer Hollow Enterprises, LLC
His screen name on Coltforum is Olle
