Other than pre-Obama paranoia?

I was hitting the pawn shops looking for some post hunting season deals. In Smyrna, there was a shop off Murfreesboro Road that had two Mosin-Nagants. Both were in worse shape than mine and both were standard Izhevsk 91/30 models. Round receiver. One was missing everything, including the sling and the ramrod. The other had sling and ramrod and nothing else. One was 1939 and one was 1942. The price tag for each one was $350!

I checked the bore, to be polite. The guy looked surprised at how easily I got the bolt out, and then left. I said nothing about the fact that with a C&R you could get the same gun for $80-90 online.

I know exactly which shop, and exactly which two rifles you are talking about. Yea, they thought I broke one when I pulled the bolt out to inspect the bore... morons. That place is a joke. SOG has them in qty (3 or more) for $60 each right now. I almost want to buy a couple, then take them in to pawn them and ask for like $150 and say "Look, you're selling them for $350!!! C'mon! This should be a no-brainer for you!" Just to razz them a bit.

Yeah, I am definitely crossing off that pawn shop off my stop-by list.
