Springfield Armory’s most elite production 1911, now available in 10mm. Two new 10mm TRP™ Operator® models – one with a 5-inch barrel, and a longslide with a 6-inch barrel.

Forged steel frames and slides are coated in a highly corrosion-resistant Black-T finish and precision fitted to Match Grade stainless steel barrels with fully supported ramps. Accessory rails allow attachment of lights and lasers. 3-dot tritium nightsights, featuring a tactical-rack rear in the 5” version, and fully adjustable rear in the 6” model.

Octo-Grip™ front strap and mainspring housing texturing with G10 VZ Grips® assure a confident hold. Ambidextrous safety and SA Gen 2 Speed Trigger with a 4.5- to 5-pound pull deliver custom-grade feel and performance. A heavier slide/barrel combination with an optimized recoil spring properly balances the 10mm recoil.  Both models ship with two 8-round magazines.

I simply must have the 5-inch model.  So much drooling here right now.  Oh, and they have a long-slide version with adjustable rear sight for you nerds that like things such as that.  ;)

Why must you torment me so? Only thing worse that I can think of would be tormenting me with Dan Wesson pictures. Now if I can just manage to get all this slobber wiped off of my screen.....

I love my Dan Wesson Specialist in .45ACP but this 5-inch TRP Operator with the non-adjustable rear sight is probably the most practical 10mm 1911 that anyone has made since the Colt Delta Elite.  It's got the right frills and plenty of business.  I'd carry the hell out of it, especially in colder months when the extra oomph of the 10mm cartridge would come in handy for overcoming layers of heavy clothing if you had to add a few extra holes to a bad guy.

Truthfully, since the Charlie Hedbo shootings in France where the goat-####ing scumbags rolled in wearing body armor, I have been giving the 10mm Glock 20 more room in my carry rotation.  It's a bit of a pain to carry something that big, but I can give you a lot of things to think about no matter the body armor you're wearing and I tend to quickly work my way towards the head with my shots.

Being my first longslide I waited with anticipation for the range to open.  The first 100 rounds ran didn't last long.  Only problem was one range wouldn't allow 10mm.

Can someone explain “ cast carbon”?

I had to double-back to see what you were asking about.  As relates to the Dan Wesson Titan, I can only assume they mean it is a cast carbon-steel frame rather than a forged steel frame.  Most of the time they will designate whether a frame is carbon steel or stainless steel, cast or forged.  That gun appears to be cast carbon.

Hope that helps.

This is because it is a double stack (2011) type frame and I don't think anyone is forging those. Castings are the norm for them. I think this is a Caspian manufactured frame. The frame is cast carbon steel rather than stainless.
