AR-10 Stovepipe while suppressed

Hey all!

I’ve got an AR-10 built with PSA parts that is giving me a heck of a time while shooting suppressed. While suppressed the rifle constantly stovepipes spent casings causing obvious problems.

I recently replaced the gas ring on the PSA bolt with a JP Enterprises enhanced one piece ring and the problem continues.

I’m thinking I’ll try a new buffer next, then maybe an adjustable gas block.

Open for suggestions, this is my first time messing with a suppressed gas gun.

Thanks!

Yessir, unsuppressed it functions perfectly fine, all the time.

Which led me to believe it was over gassed while suppressed, so I started with the gas ring.

If you are going to be shooting both suppressed and unsuppressed a lot, I would go ahead and put on the adjustable gas block. You may tune it all up nice now for both, but when you change the ammo it may develop issues again.

I’m using my gas block totally shut off when shooting subsonic suppressed as there is no way to cycle the action without changing out the buffer and spring rate.  Action is not cycling at all.

I may do this in the future, but right now I’m developing an accurate subsonic load using Trail Boss and various bullets.

What loads ads are you shooting?

my subsonic loads are grouping tighter than Federal Gold Match which is what I’m using as a reference point.  Using both 168 and 175 grain match loads for supersonic.
