Need help finding a scope base

Recommended Posts

Posted

So I have an RS Regulate mount for one of my AKs. The mount is designed to use an ACOG with the base removed.

https://rsregulate.com/product/akog/

I have a couple of red dots I would like to try on the mount. Problem is traditional ring cannot be attached to the mount.

I am looking for a set of rings that can bolt to the mount above like an ACOG without its base. I have searched but I cannot find any. They may not even exist but I hope so.

Thanks

Would something like this work?

https://ads.midwayusa.com/product/228748/dnz-products-freedom-reaper-1-piece-scope-base-with-1-integral-rings-ar-15-carry-handle-matte?utm_medium=shopping&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Optics+-+Scope+Rings%2C+Bases%2C+Mounting+%26+Accessories&utm_content=228748&cm_mmc=pf_ci_google-_-Optics+-+Scope+Rings%2C+Bases%2C+Mounting+%26+Accessories-_-DNZ+Products-_-228748&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIkLCes_vn1wIVGbXACh2LRw1YEAQYBiABEgJUsPD_BwE

Or could you not just go with a Picatinny rail section for a carry handle mount then rings?  Only reason I ask is because I was under the impression that the ACOG base was designed to fit into the carry handle slot of AR 15 rifles.

I think I have figured out what I will do. I might take a set of Leupold rings, cut of the base the machine it to match.

Something like this, which is a lot cheaper than cutting up a DNZ mount. This isn't going to be a permanent solution, just trying to decide if I want to run a red dot or something else.
