What brand of computer?

If it is a Dell you can easily restore it back to factory fresh. They have a ghosted copy of the original install that you can go back to on Dells.

Yea, almost all brands do that, cheaper than including disks I guess.  The repair utility program uses that to fix driver issues without losing your data, but due to the upgrade I doubt that would work.  I always backup my user data so I will never lose it, even if I have to do a full reinstall of my operating system.

It's an HP. It isn't a big deal, just irritating that I'm not able to fix it.

Anyone got team viewer? Able to RAS in?

I think what you are looking for is built right into Windows 10. I swore the next time my dad needs computer help, I'm gonna try Remote Assistance, but I've not used it yet.

Following those instructions, you should be able to see and control a remote computer.

The go to your start menu and find the restore option then create a restore point. That way if it decides to screw up again you can at least go back to the way it is now. Create a restore point, do not restore to an earlier time.
