Summertime carry

I ordered the Comp-Tac undercover pro for a Ruger P90. I will post pics when it comes in. I wear alot of shorts, beach style shorts, and tank tops as well as t-shirts. I wanted something that would just "clip" onto my shorts, but ride IWB style. I hope I like it, I read some reviews and folks said it worked for them just fine in warm weather...

Does that mean, a 2lb+ gun with no belt?

Maybe it does, maybe it doesnt?...blehhh

I am experimenting with the holster because it is of the style I was looking for. I may end up with more than just the butt of my gun showing........:(.........:dirty:

So my new holster the Comp-Tac pro undercover, arrived yesterday. It is sweet. Perfect for me. I have been wearing it since I got home at 10:30 last night. I havent gotten my HCP yet, 20 days since I turned in the paperwork, so I have worn it around my house last night and for 2 hours this am.

Yes OS...a 2lb gun with no belt works frickin great. Even I was surprised. They are drawstring shorts though, so I tightened em up, and have had em on for 2 hours now, walking, bending, making coffee, the whole nine. I have tried 2 differnt t-shirt options and on my 3rd now. So far they all work great.

Pics are soon to follow.

Well, heck, that's great.

I guess I must be too "oval"...I'd have to tighten a drawstring enough to cut off circulation to my entire bottom half!

But goody for you, great solution...

See below the "Boys of Summer" I switch from Stainless steel (S&W 60 and 640)with +P to Airweight (642 and 637) with pocket holster and standard pressure ammo for the summer. S&W 317 is "trainer" fired in my garage range (Bullet trap) for daily practice. Grips on .22LR are swapped out from Pachmayr (SS) to UMs (Airweights) to keep same grip for drill.

I prefer 642 but 637 conceals in jeans pockets much better.

Nice wjh! We're on the same page.

I'm from Seattle, so hot for me starts in May or June here LOL. I have a 642 on order that will go in a Nemesis pocket holster for summer duty.

I get so hot here I have been known to shower three times a day, and I use ice packs to help cool down in my house when I'm warm.

You will love 642. It is so comfortable that I have been embarassed and have had to back out of places where I wasn't supposed to be carrying because I forgot I was! I only carry 637 when I need a little smaller gun (jeans and some dress pants.) I do heartily recommend Standard pressure ammo though, especially if you want to use multiple shots, it is a light little bugger!

I'll probably put a Hogue rubber grip on the thing to tame it. Haven't shot one but all accounts are that they are snappy, especially with the stock grips because the metal is right in contact with your hand. I'd like to give it good range time when I get it so I can become proficient enough for good close range doubletaps from 6 to maybe 12 feet.

It seems the most practical and lightweight gun for the summer duty to me.

Ill stick to my blue jean Thong from Smart Carry,With sweat barrier un the underside, between me and my Glock 27 40cal.,and spare mag.I wear cargo shorts, while working outside all, summer, not those ones that the teens wear, that come half way between your knees to your anckels. They stop above the knee, and a tshirt or tank top, when I get home, and cleaning up equiment,or hosing off,I can take my shirt off,and no one kinows im carring,I dont have to wear a belt either, also wear this rig,in winter, with sweat pants, with a draw string, plenty of room, with my Berretta Tomcat 32cal,in a Desantais rubber like holster in weak front pocket.
