hey guys.  i just saw this announcement and thought i'd forward along to those in Williamson Co.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is taking pro-active steps to ensure houses of worship in our county are safe and secure. We are hosting our first church security training on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Williamson County Public Safety Center at 304 Beasley Drive. The WCSO has received several requests for security checks from churches in our community in recent weeks. This training is being offered in response to those requests. It will focus on vulnerability assessments, response to an active shooter, church security teams and emergency communications. Sergeant Leonardo Zollicoffer and Lt. Michael Fletcher will lead the training. It’s designed for church leaders and church security teams. Seating is limited to 100 registered participants with a two person limit for each church. If you have any questions, please call Sergeant Jonathan Barry at 615-854-6274. To register for the training, please email your name, address, telephone number and information about your church and the two church members who will be attending to Sharon Puckett, Public Information Administrator at WCSO at sharonpuckett@williamson-tn.org

Here in Roane County there has been a Sheriff's car and officer posted outside. I have stopped and introduced myself each week, handed them my carry permit, and told them I appreciate them coming by.
