Sorry if this has been asked a million times but I've searched many times and could not find it.

I remember seeing someone have a link to a page that could be printed out that had the Handgun Carry Permit T.C.A. Codes in a print friendly easy to read format.

Someone stated they kept this print out in their vehicle in case to show LEOs.

I'd appreciate any help in retaining my sanity.

Thanks,

This should be a good starting point:

I can't imagine anything good from showing the police a printer friendly, easy to read format of our State's gun laws. If a police has pulled you over or otherwise detained you, they're not going to be asking for your interpretation of the laws. Whether you've broken the law or not, I just can't imagine a citizen getting out a situation by waving a piece of paper and saying, "But officer, this is what it says." I'm not calling police ignorant, or saying that they're just looking for a quick arrest, I'm just pointing out that it is not their job to get into legal debates with citizens.

And if the thing is in "easy to read" format, then it sounds like it's not the actual current law as it is written, just someone's take on it in simple to understand English, and what exactly are you going to be able to do with that?

Well a cop isn't going to give a flip about a piece of paper you hand them. Know the laws and do right, and if you get into some trouble get a lawyer.

Good advice from bkelm . . . all the LEOs I have talked to on concealed carry issues have varied amounts of knowledge and opinions, thus, you cannot count on what they have been trained to know. All will interpret what you hand them differently, and there is no certainty it will be interpreted in your favor . . .

. . . or give a flip about your disrespectful opinion of a question either?
