Obama calls for new Declaration of Independence

See, that's the thing, they looked AT skin color. I have seen literally 100's of people since the election here in Memphis that are black that only voted for Obama because he's black. This election was about nothing else than race.

To be fair on that comment, and some others.

- America is less than 13% black population

- Blacks did not vote in any greater % than in previous elections.

- Blacks have always voted about 9:1 for democratic candidate.

So in short, O couldn't have won without the black vote, but neither could any other Democrat.

I might be a little more prone to view it as an overall since I live in Memphis and I'm the minority. It still has to do with race, because ultimately I think alot of white people voted out of white guilt.

Actually shoot the july 2007 census shows black population at 14% if you count mixed blacks like "O". But that wasn't what did it anyway.

I don't think the black vote got him in as much as the hispanic, legal or not, and the white libs who are afraid of their own shadow.

And what's with every washed up or soon to be washed up celebrity jumping on the OOOOO train ? I couldn't care what sheryl crow, tim robbins, susan sarandon, bruce springstein, sean penn, bono (not american anyway), james taylor, and denzel washington thought before "O" started campaigning, why would I start now.

Well, speaking of "what did it", how about 13% more of ALL women for O than McCain. All else being equal, that was enough to swing it.

And O did get slightly more % of ALL men than McCain.

So much for that theory of women voting more for security and men for autonomy.

Well, "all men" would include all kinds of men, eh?

Estimation of male homosexuality in US is 2-10%. Probably about 5%.

So gay alone could swing that stat if equal otherwise.

well, we can all only guess what is Obama going to do and if he is going to be successful as a president or not, all that is to be seen yet..on the other hand we do know that G.W.Bush sucked as a president and will be remembered as one of the (if not THE ONE) worst presidents in history of United States, as far as the poeple that are being picked by Obama..well, they can`t be worst than the ones we had for the last 8 years..on the other hand, to try to get majority to understand that on here is like a preaching to the quier (SP?)..this is after all a gun forum, right... what am I thinking...

I dunno about that making a difference... my perception is that the gay vote is already going to be largely Democratic. I attribute this to the perception, whether correct or not, that the Repubs are allied with fundamentalist religious folk who tend to be pretty anti-gay-rights.

What might have made the difference is if voter turnout in that category went up this time around and weighted things more on the Dem side.

Indeed they can get worse.

As you may know, I'm pretty certain they will, regardless of who's in the Oval Orifice.

The light at the end of the tunnel may be an oncoming train.

Fannie Mae Eases Credit To Aid Mortgage Lending>>

Hey, Clinton's the best Republican president we ever had. Investigate Phil Gramm's 1999 bill which allowed the securitizing of mortgages....that, not Fanny and Freddy which are convenient targets, was probably the main cause of the disaster....removing lenders from direct liability for failed mortgages as govt. insurance did for Fanny and Freddie, but on a much larger scale.

So, what Constitutional rights did your man Klinton violate when he cooked those folks in Waco?

The "Oprah" vote.....

I'm kidding because I only can speculate, but Oprah supported Obama, therefore, uneducated stay at home women (uneducated in the fact that they did not look past what Oprah was doing), voted because of Oprah's support only.

If I could find it... dang... the county by county vote map showed the election to be far more republican. The only blue areas were the major population centers, and that made those states that were geographically red swing blue. You know, LA, NY City, etc. All it takes is a +1 vote in any area to make it go one way or the other. Look at our own Naifeh, Jr. fiasco.

<<The way I read these definitions, it appears to me anyways, that we have a lot to worry about. Obama has even called for a National Defense Force equal to the US military which he never explained...and I heard it with my own ears, it is not out of context or a misunderstanding.>>

Seriously...where did you get your "facts." He's calling for a domestic version of the Peace corps...NOT in any way equivalent to the US military.

They had a longer version but I saw it the day he said it. He was talking about the United State Military and said so, I heard him.

Alaska was a no-brainer, but check out Oklahoma! The only state in the union that has it right across the board!

Wow Ralph, that's the second point you've tried to pass as fact that's been shot down in flames. I guess it's easier to preach to the (brainwashed) choir at tea parties than it is to actually debate in a forum with free thinkers where you have to back up your statements with facts.

Actually it's more than the second point. I forgot about the requisite liberal Bush is a fascist comment you made earlier, but who's counting?
