Rem 700 walnut stocks and barrel diameters?

I’ve never got a definitive answer for this, so I’ll ask again. I love the old school quality walnut stocks. I have a Remington VLS 308 with a heavy barrel and a laminate stock. If I found a walnut stock from a 700 SA would the HB fit in the stock channel? I don’t have a regular barrel 700 to determine if the barrel diameter where the stock ends is the same as the heavy barrel.

Maybe someone with a 700 BDL or CDL with a regular barrel and a pair of calipers could give me a barrel diameter where the stock ends. :)

My barrel is .880" diameter approx. 10.75” from where the barrel meets the receiver.
