Pass this on please

Subject: Fw: Beware - Ammunition Accountability Act

Date: Thu, 15 Jan 2009 20:51:19 -0500

Guys, please pass this on to anyone who may need to know.

A bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including TN, Illinois and Indiana ) requires all ammunition to be encoded

by the manufacture, a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers.

Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including handloaded ammo.)

They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!

If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

Please give this the widest distribution possible and contact your Reps!

It's the ammo, not the guns...

I've said for a long time that they wouldn't go for your guns, they'd go for your ammo... guns have a Constitutional protection. Ammo does not. A list of states where this legislation is pending is in the final paragraph. Not in CO yet, they'll go where the PANSIES are first.

Heads up to all of you who swore to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign AND

domestic. Let your state Legislatures know that we do not want this bill passed, and petition them to vote no on this

bill. We should keep after them until the bill is closed by bombarding them with e-mails, phone calls, and letters.

Get to all your politicians to get to work and NOT LET THIS HAPPEN!!!

The 2008 Legislative session has begun, and the Ammunition Accountability Act is being introduced across the

country. Below is a list of states where legislation has already been introduced:

Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi,

Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.

Maybe, here and there.

Tom, I didn't mean to be mean, but it's old hat, really. The point is, this post in one form or another has circulated just about weekly for a year now. There must be 4 or 5 regarding it here on TGO in the last couple months. And on every gun forum I've frequented, ad nauseum.

The more pertinent point is that NONE of these, in any state, even got out of committee for a vote.

Seems to me we should be more concerned about any CURRENT proposed legislation, especially here in TN. The bills have to be re-introduced to be considered. If they weren't acted on in 08, they don't automatically come back around on the guitar for 09.

best,

- OS

Tom, if you are from Elizabethton and want to do something political, start a recall drive(proper or not) on Kent Williams, now that is something I would like to here about. I have heard that this is not possible under TN law, I don't know, but you put enough signatures together I am sure you could have a great impact on the man. Oh, and organize that boycott on his business while while you are at it.

Recall is not allowable under the law. Best thing to do is disrupt his cash flow by boycotting his businesses. Economy is in the tank shouldn't take long.

There are LOTS of non-violent, non-confrontational ways to send a message to this arsehole. It will unfortunately effect his staff but as they say you cannot make an omelet without breaking some eggs. Force him to resign from office even if he switches to the DEM side drive him out period...

Ummm, well, look ... I don't think antagonizing the beast in his own lair is necessarily the best idea for someone who owns a gun store on his own turf.

What I would suggest though, Tom: do you know him? If not, I'd make an effort to get to know him, and see what you can do on a personal level to reinforce gun rights expansion. Invite him to lunch, whatever.

That would likely be quite a bit more effective activism than beating the gong over expired legislation.

Unfortunately, if people keep posting this same article over and over without searching the real thing my come along and see a 'boy who cried wolf' response.

There are plenty of things to get bent about but we need to insure we're actually encouraging response to situations that require it.

Man is a bold face lying weasel. Trust him IF YOU WANT but to publicly proclaim one thing and then turn around and NOT do what was promised is another. All about power NOT about honor and dignity. But feel free to talk yourself to death.

Oh, there are LOTS of ways. Fill the place up on the busy nights, order and stay for hrs. TIP the servers well cause its not their fault the owner is a horses-ass. Picket peacefully and non-physically outside further driving off business etc. The honorable thing for this whore to do is resign and for a new election held with the winner to serve the remainder of the term. But if the citizens of Carter county are happy with this butt then there isn't really much that is going to happen.
