a buddy of mine is wanting to get his permit but wasn't sure if there are certain types of holsters you can wear to carry the pistol. he asked me if it was legal to wear his pistol in a tactical thigh type holster like the Blackhawk or safari 6005 holster. i've told him thats not a concealable type gun, he understands and says he will open carry it, but he really insists on carrying his mk23. :angel::tinfoil:

basically his question is, are thigh holsters legal for open carry?

There is no mention of holsters at all in TN HCP statutes.

I suppose you could duct tape a gun to your leg if you wanted to.

So you're telling me I can soon have a Mk23 for the cost of some pepper spray, huh? ... interesting.

:rolleyes::screwy:

... tell him I want the silencer, too!

Don't mind me - I'm just being an ******* ...

The first reply by OhShoot is correct & all the answer I figured you needed.

(That answer is: "yes" ... it'd be legal.)

Have him pickup a Serpa or a Uncle Mikes until he can find a decent OWB holster for his MK23. I'm thinking if he goes into a HCP class with a thigh rig, he'll be the butt of alot of mall ninja jokes.

Not to mention, after about a week of carrying a MK23, he'll be ready to find another gun

I personally doubt it, but I've seen weirder products.
