I am picking up my first 1911 tomorrow. Is there anything I should know about 1911? I will post pics of my Valor tomorrow and range report follows up on this coming Tuesday.

Thanks.

Will.

Very nice choice!

Pick up a few good quality magazines for it. I really like the Wilson mags. If you have not had a 1911 before, have someone show you how to disassemble it and how to reassemble it WITHOUT scratching your frame. It is easy once you figure it out, but it is definitely not as simple as breaking down a <insert name of tactical tupperware pistol here>.

Wow, this is a very nice pistol. It just fits right in my hands. No bulky feeling. Now I understand why this pistol design is lasting almost 100 years. I think I am going to be a 1911 guy from now on. Just awesome.

I just can't wait to shoot it.
