I'm kind of impressed with the article myself. I have been following this story since I live less than an hour from ATL and visit there frequently. That is the best version of the story I have read yet.

Initially, when I heard the story I was concerned the shooter might face charges since it wasn't stated if he had the gun on his person in the bar (illegal). Then I heard he had retrieved if from his car (also illegal if in the parking lot of an "off limits" place according to GA case law). It is good to hear that the vehicle wasn't parked anywhere a overzealous DA could try to prosecute for.

Good for this guy. Glad he was able to get the jump on the bad guy.

I think that's the first time I have ever read a report about a criminal getting shot that didn't state somewhere... "no charges are expected to be filed on Mr...."

It also complemented his marksmanship and made him sound human by saying he was so upset he almost threw up.

89.48% in favor of self defense. Kudos to the good guy. another happy story. Actually the story is excellent because it protrayed the shooter in a favorable lite as opposed to the usual liberal press

Yes, and the AJC is about as liberal as they come.

I can only assume some people want to be powerless victims, or think that calling the police will help.

Why else would anyone (9.17%) in that particular poll choose:

"I don't know. Depends on the circumstances."

What more do you need to know to get past "Depends?" than a gun being drawn on you and yours by a robber?

At least the majority agrees (90.06%)

"Always, you have to defend yourself"
